Ever heard of a “duck loafing bar”? No, it’s not a fancy waterfowl pub! ?

Here’s the tea: After mating season, male ducks are basically the ultimate “beach bums” of the bird world! While the hardworking mama ducks are busy nesting and raising ducklings, the guys? They’re hanging out at what’s called a “loafing bar” – basically their version of a bachelor pad!�

? What happens at the loafing bar?
– They molt ALL their flight feathers (talk about a wardrobe change!)
– Transform into more female-like plumage (witness protection program? ??)
– Literally can’t fly while this happens (no escape from responsibility, fellas!)
– Just… loaf around (hence the name!)�


And later? They molt AGAIN into their fancy courtship outfits. Talk about high maintenance! ?
