April 22 – Earth Day Rescue Recap: The Small, The Lost, and The Masked

On April 22, Earth Day, Ruffled Feathers Parrot Sanctuary in Louisville received unexpected wildlife rescues, including a baby shrew, a lone gosling, and an orphaned raccoon. Each rescue highlighted the urgency of caring for vulnerable creatures and the unpredictability of wildlife rehabilitation. The shrew, in desperate need of hydration, was stabilized; the gosling imprinted on a volunteer who comforted him; and the raccoon, found alone, was nurtured back to health. These rescues emphasized the importance of every animal and the small actions that lead to significant change in wildlife conservation.
